2015 Summer Songwriting Workshop at Amagansett Library – August
Playing with harmony in "Something New"
The Amagansett Public Library hosted an Ideas to Inspire™ Half Day Songwriting workshop on Thursday, August 13th from 1:30-4:30pm.
Seven young songwriters and musicians assembled to work on the theme of 'Meeting Someone New'.
We focused on 3 areas to create our audio sketch: lyrics, beat and melody. After writing in journals, we took a break to learn about 'multi-track recording'. To illustrate an example of recording harmony, we sang some 'la las' into the computer as a test. We liked them so much we made a song out of it called, "Something New". Enjoy!
Inda conducted a series of i2i™ Songwriting Workshops at libraries in Suffolk County, NY based on the core concepts from Ideas to Inspire™ creativity and songwriting program.
Participants explore songwriting, live music performance and learn about basic audio recording. Workshop activities include a writing group, recording session and a live music performance. The result is a simple audio recording.
