These Are My Streets is a song written by 4th & 5th grade Project MOST participants at John Marshall and Springs elementary school in East Hampton, NY over the course of 8 afternoons.
This project was made possible by Paddlers for Humanity.
The premise was to connect the two elementary schools who share Project MOST and write a shared song. Participants from both schools met each other for the first time on March 16, 2016 at the John Marshall gym for a kick off concert and information meeting. Following the assembly, each school worked with the i2i™ presenters to write, rehearse and record a part of the song. John Marshall students wrote a letter to Springs elementary and Springs wrote back. What happened was, These Are My Streets. Enjoy!
Project MOST believes in giving children the opportunity to find what inspires them. Our artist-in-residence program is designed to introduce students to professional visual artists, musicians, and dancers. Through their interaction with these artists, students are encouraged to express themselves creatively, experiment with a variety of art forms, learn specific skills, and spend time with creative thinkers who become role models for a student’s own pursuit of a creative life.
